This production was a compelling new work that followed the journey of a podcaster uncovering the story of Wat Misaka—a trailblazing basketball player who led his team to the 1944 NCAA championship during the height of World War II. This project marked both my first experience lighting a one-person show and my first professional opportunity outside of my university. The minimalist staging demanded a lighting design that could subtly shift tone, time, and place, supporting the emotional arc of the narrative while maintaining visual interest throughout.
